My lady,
I did something outside of my comfort zone yesterday.
They say it's a sure way to expand your mind and grow faster, right?
LinkedIn sent me a new job alert and as usual, I just read the description and the requirements for the job.
But there was something different about this particular job: I MET THE REQUIREMENTS!
All of them except one... I lacked the experience needed for the job.
Thankfully, the job description says "EXPERIENCE" isn't a must-have and you'll be trained on the job too.
Great!
I don't know what happened in my mind but I just clicked away and continued with what I was doing.
Few hours ago, while I was reading THE MAGIC OF THINKING BIG, i discovered something that changed the way I viewed myself and my skills.
It probably didn't have anything to do with the job alert but I couldn't help but think about it.
Is it that I don't want that job or am I trying to avoid something?
I've always loved ATTRACTING my clients instead of going after them.
I'd prefer to do my best, get better at my skill and have them come to me instead.
This method has been working for me and applying for jobs is totally out of my comfort zone.
I realized, after asking myself that question above, that while I loved ATTRACTING clients, I was unconsciously avoiding REJECTIONS.
This is the real reason I don't like applying for jobs even though I know fully well that I'm highly qualified.
Truth with a bitter taste 😅
Then I got all the requirements ready within 3 hours, went back to LinkedIn, searched for the job and applied for it.
Violà! I applied for my first remote job ever and I did something outside of my comfort zone.
Congratulations to me! Lol 😆
I've said this before and I'm saying it again, freelancers who apply for jobs on LinkedIn are the real MVPs!
Now, whether I get the job or not, what matters to me is that I did it and those samples I prepared will be useful to me in the future.
I'm super proud of myself right now 😅
And speaking of doing something out of your comfort zone, I did something that I've been putting off for a long time, today.
I'll let you know how the job thing worked out (positive or negative).
Anyways, we still have about 7 hours before nightfall... DO SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE before the day ends.
Feel free to let me know what it is and how it worked out for you.
I'm rooting for you 🥰
P.S: Guess I'll stop using “My lady” for future letters. This newsletter was created for ladies but we've got lots of guys here already.
I don't know what made them sign up for this newsletter even when the instructions says LADIES ONLY 😅
