"I'll think about it"
"I'm thinking about it"
~
Thinking is one of the reason we procrastinate.
We use "Thinking about it" as an excuse not to take action.
Remember, I'm writing from experience.
Something that should have taken less than 30 minutes to do might take 7 whole days because we are thinking about it.
Thinking about what exactly?
This is probably why this quote was created: "Ready. Fire. Aim".
This thinking exercise is not bad per se.
It actually helps you plan your steps and act accordingly.
However, when the thinking gets beyond planning and into the "what ifs", that's when procrastination sets in.
• What's if it doesn't work like I've planned?
• What if this isn't worth it?
• What if I'm just wasting my time?
• What if I get rejected?
And so on.
Before you realize what's happening, you've pushed that particular task into someday in the future.
Ready. Fire. Aim is sometimes better that Ready. Aim. Fire.
Think but don't tank.
